Funding
We offer services in all aspects of the programme management process, from initial research and feasibility, to project and programme development, to funding and implementation, through to monitoring and evaluation. This means we can provide the full range of expertise and support you need to deliver your projects and services.
What we do
We write bids and tenders to help our clients access funding from local, regional, UK and European government, and other sources. This includes ESF, ERDF, Single Programme, local authority and charitable funds. Through our Funding Advisory Service, we help clients to manage and monitor projects to ensure compliance with funding rules.
Our funding services include:
- Researching funding opportunities
- Writing bids, tenders and business cases
- Technical funding appraisals
- Bidding and grant management training
- Negotiating grants/awards and liaising with funders
- Grant claims and monitoring returns
- Developing monitoring systems
- Assurance (eligibility, audits, evidence checks)
How can we help you?
Our funding specialists can help you identify and exploit funding opportunities you may not otherwise know about. And tapping into the expertise of professional bid writers can significantly improve your chances of securing funding, especially in competitive bidding rounds.
We understand that it’s not always practical to know every funding rule and regulation, so with our specialist knowledge we can help you design your project to meet funders’ requirements. We can also deal with the time-consuming process of preparing grant claims and monitoring reports, leaving you free to get on with project delivery.

Project: Working Neighbourhood Funds Bid
Client: North East Business and Innovation Centre
The North East BIC is a not for profit business support agency offering specialist business and technical services to a wide range of clients. In February 2009 it led a consortium of partners on a £1.1m Working Neighbourhoods Fund Tender for the provision of ‘Enterprise Talent Scouts and Neighbourhood-based Business Advisors’. We helped the consortium to develop and design the project and prepare its tender submission. In March 2009 the tender was successful in securing the full amount of funding, to deliver enterprise support and create self-employment opportunities in some of Sunderland’s most deprived communities.
Project: Fishing Industry Skills Hub Single Programme Grant Management
Client: Seafood Training Centre
The Seafood Training Centre, based in the heart of the fishing community in North Shields, delivers a whole range of training to people working in the seafood industry. Having achieved Seafood Training Academy Status, the Centre wanted to develop a range of new flexible training courses to meet the changing needs of the industry. We worked with the Centre to develop the project, prepare funding applications and secure £1.1m of Single Programme and ESF funding. As a result of our work the Fishing Industry Skills Hub was established, an innovative project providing training for the current and potential workforce of the catching and processing sectors.
Project: ERDF 'How To' Guides
Client: One North East
One North East is committed to delivering a high quality and responsive ERDF competitiveness programme across the North East. In April 2009 we were commissioned by the Agency to apply our technical expertise and extensive knowledge of ERDF to produce ERDF practitioner guidance. We developed a full set of clear, concise and easy-to-use guidance documents, which can be used by anyone involved in the design and delivery of ERDF projects to help them understand the rules and how to apply them in practice.
