Here's just a small selection of the project work we've undertaken:

Project: VCS Train to Gain Project Management

Client: LSC North East

The LSC’s national Working Together Strategy, published in May 2004, outlines the importance of the voluntary and community sector in providing learning and workforce development. As a step towards enabling these organisations to compete successfully in open and competitive tendering rounds, the LSC in the North East wanted to engage the VCS in the delivery of Train to Gain. In August 2007, we started working with North East VCS organisations to help them win Train to Gain contracts and begin delivering training to the VCS workforce. By July 2008, 13 of the 15 participating organisations were successfully delivering Train to Gain, benefiting 94 VCS employers and almost 500 employees and volunteers.

Project: Future Jobs Fund Project Development

Client: Tyne & Wear City Region Employment and Skills Partnership

In July 2009 the Partnership was among the first group of successful bidders to secure funding from the Future Jobs Fund. This £1 billion Fund aims to create 150,000 jobs for long-term unemployed young people and others who face significant disadvantage in the labour market. We helped the Partnership to develop project ideas, write delivery plans and prepare the funding submission to DWP. With our input, the Partnership was able to secure around £10m for the first six months of delivery to create more than 1,500 jobs for disadvantaged young people in the City Region.

Project: Interim Project Management

Client: One North East Skills and Economic Inclusion Team

One North East invests approximately £20m of Single Programme funding each year in its Skills and Higher Education and Economic Inclusion Programmes. Following a restructure of the Skills and Economic Inclusion Team in 2008, we provided 12 months of interim consultancy support to the Agency to develop, deliver and manage projects within these two important programmes. With our support, several high profile projects were approved and began delivery, addressing priority skills issues in the region and helping people into sustainable employment.
