The North East LEP is inviting
feedback and comments on its draft EU SIF strategy 2014-20. NELEP was
invited by BIS to develop a draft European Strategic Investment Framework (EU
SIF) describing how an allocation of £460m of European Funding would be spent
in the North East LEP area over the next seven years (2014-20).
The strategy, which must
comply with stringent European regulations as well detailed Government
guidelines, was submitted in draft form to BIS on the 7th October 2013.
NELEP now has until the end of January 2014 to finalise the draft, and to gather
feedback and comments from key stakeholders, potential delivery partners and
beneficiary organisations across the NELEP area.
The strategy is built around
five key objectives focused on innovation, business support, the low carbon
economy, employability and skills. Comments can be submitted to NELEP by
