Materials Processing Institute R&D Centre - The Materials Processing Institute is a R&D business providing specialist advice and testing facilities for companies working in the materials processing and energy industries. Working in partnership with Turner and Townsend we helped develop a successful LGF application and business case, securing a £3m grant which was used towards the costs of creating a new Open Access R&D Centre, SME Incubator, and training facility at its Teesside base.
North East Rural Growth Network Economic Investment Funds - The NE Rural Growth Network provides services to support business growth, start-up and job creation in rural Northumberland, County Durham, and Gateshead. We helped the Network to secure a £5m LGF grant, for an ‘Infrastructure Fund’ that will create new business premises and sites in rural areas, and a ‘Business Growth Fund’ providing finance to SMEs for capital investment projects.
University of Sunderland Centre for Enterprise and Innovation (CEI) - As part of an expansion of its City Centre Campus, the University is building a new centre including a ‘FabLab’ to encourage local businesses and young people to get involved in innovation and research, alongside business accommodation for SMEs working in advanced manufacturing, health sciences, and creative & cultural sectors. We helped the University to secure a £3.5m LGF grant for the new facility.
